A gastronomic event totally
dedicated to the most delicious of the bulb plants
cultivated in Italy, a fruit of the earth which
has ever been widely used on our tables. It's
the Onion festival, an annual event organised
by the Pro-Loco and by the Township of Cannara,
during which one can taste some of the best Umbrian
dishes, prepared using this excellent vegetable.
Besides boasting excellent organoleptic qualities,
it also offers great pharmaceutical potential:
in fact we know that this bulb was used from antiquity
in medicinal cures. But it is certainly at the
table that the onion of Cannara offers its best,
fundamental and irreplaceable ingredient for the
preparation of tasty soups based on various vegetables,
able to contribute a truly unique and incomparable
flavour to any food. A very interesting event
dedicated especially to those who love good food.
The choice of a Stand in which to dine is absolutely
not a problem, "Il Giardino Fiorito",
"El Cipollaro", "Al Cortile Antico",
"Il Pescatore", "La Taverna del
Castello" and "Il Rifugio del Cacciatore",
everywhere the motto is: quality, flavour and
e courtesy.
All accompanied by the wines of the area and,
especially, Vernaccia di Cannara, another highly
valued product, typical of our territory.
