Festival ECOLOGICAL WEEK END Assisi - September

The Ecological Weekend is organised by THE CULTURAL ASSOCIATION United Artists for Peace in collaboration with the Municipality of Assisi.
The manifestation proposes to promote Environmental and Food Education making use of a Steering Committee and of the collaboration of educators and of the highest experts.
The topics dealt with are of great relevance and regard both the relationships among Eating habits, Health and Food safety, and those between Man and the Environment from a viewpoint of sustainable development.

The Municipality of Assisi participates actively in the manifestation, confirming, in a significant way, the intense naturalistic tradition of the City of St. Francis, patron saint of Ecologists and symbol of a harmonious relationship between man and nature. The event also provides an important opportunity for the promotion of typical farm food products, one of the riches of our local and national production.
In this edition the new project "Menù e Ricette per la Salute" (Healthy Menus and Recipes) will be presented, healthy guidelines based on the Mediterranean diet.
The initiative proposes to introduce into collective food service a healthy menu, complementary to the official one, which makes reference to the Mediterranean diet, nominated to be declared "Cultural Heritage"
