Festival of oil and garlic bread
The historical centre and
the oil presses of Spello (Pg), Città dell'Olio,
Borgo più bello d'Italia and Città
del Bio (City of Oil, Most Beautiful Village of
Italy and Bio City ), present the Festival of
oil and garlic bread (bruschetta), organised by
the Pro Loco, the Town of Spello and by the Comunità
Montana Monte Subasio, which belongs to the Associazione
Nazionale Citta del Tartufo (National Association
of Truffle Cities).
A programme rich
in initiatives dedicated to olive oil, and not
just oil.
Typical products of the area exhibited in piazza,
greatly appreciated by all visitors, an impromptu
Culinary Challenge among the three terzieri
or districts, which will be contended in the
respective taverns, are only a few of the events
programmed.
Space dedicated
to taste will not be lacking with garlic bread,
prepared exclusively using oil produced from
the olive trees of the hills surrounding Assisi
and Spello, offered in piazza and in the ancient
taverns of the town.
