Associazione Media Valle Tevere - GAL

The Middle Tiber Valley Local Group (G.A.L) cover san area of approximately 1,527 Km and a total  population of 159,000 inhabitants and acts for the Province of Perugia on the councils of Assisi, Bettona, Collazione, Corciano, Deruta, Fratta Todina, Marsciano, Massa Martana, Monta Castello di Vibio, Perugia, Todi and Torgiano, and for the Province of Terni on the councils of Acquasparta and Avigliano Umbro. The statuary aims can mostly be traced back to the implementation of Community  Initiatives in community programmes and negotiated planning. In real terms, the Middle Tiber Valley G.A.L.’s work consists of assisting local communities in their support initiatives in order to promote economic and social development in their areas in accordance with the principles of plausibility, quality of life and environment.
Founded on 14th September 1994, G.A.L. is a non-profit organization with members from both the public and private sectors. It was set up with the principle aim of implementing the Leader II Community Initiative of which declaration 94/C 180/12 was made to the European Union on 01/07/1994 and declaration 2000/C139/05 of the Leader Plus Community Initiative was made to the European Union on 14/04/2000.
